A note from Ann...

Ann said:
You know..if you aren't going to talk about knitting...then you really need to start wrtiting bodice ripper short stories for your blog. I'm just sayin' you need to keep us interested, coming back for more.

I'm sorry. I know I haven't been knitting, and this was intended to be a knitting blog. And yeah, not pressured or stressed about anything at the moment, and yeah, school will start in a few weeks and all hell will break loose, and yeah, I won't have lots of time to sit around and eat bon-bons, and yeah, I know I have a pair of mittens to make for Bitchin' Mittens, and yeah, I know you come here to read about what I'm working on, which at the moment, is nothing.

SO, to keep YOU interested and coming back to read my blog (and YOU know who YOU are), I'm going to follow YOUR advice! I'm giving you a "Bodice Ripper" kit. Now, I'm not much of a writer of smut, although I do have quite a "colorful" vocabulary, and have been know to make truck drivers blush, or at least speechless. Here's what YOU do:

Take any of the following words, in any conjugation, in any order, and put them in sentences, and Voila! Bodice Ripper! (I'm not putting them in any order - that would be too easy for YOU, and I want YOU to have FUN!)

YOUR words:

heaving, wet, moist, torso, thigh, breast, lick, kiss, touch, grope, taste, bite, hair, mound, manhood, nape, bicept, sweat, bulge, crevice, pound, delight, thrust, moan, wimper, cry, scream, knees, give, take, groan, smile, eat, engulf, envelop, finger, leg, arm, pubis, ram, torture, tie, gauntlet, cod piece, stuffing, ooze, throbbing, spread, sit, force, man handle, pinch, twist, nipple, tug, pull, stroke, shoot, facial, eye, nose, gag, forest, pecs, shoulders, waste, buttocks, kneel, prone, nibble, ear, honey, wine, cherry, chocolate, nonpariels, swine, sword, sheath, handle, water, slide, grunt, declaration, eye patch, dun, wooden leg, spire, parrot, whistle, hand, pressure, goat, thief, pirate, page, widow, virgin, slut, whore, bastard, horse, mule, spigot, hose, dumpster, bed, table, tree, staircase, ship, bank vault, carriage, saddle, Woody Allen, grease, poker, ash can, water closet, broom handle, bodice, corset, bloomers, stockings, wart, knuckle, Lizzie Borden, hatchet, mutton broth, pears, corn cob, Crisco, rolling pin, apron, French Maid, fish-net stockings, stiletto heels, satin, silk, flow, drip, and crank shaft.

There. Feel free to add words of your own (I'm sure I must have missed several), and remember, have fun. Especially YOU

Oh, and while YOU'RE writing YOUR Bodice Ripper, have a cookie. They're tasty.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA......... *sigh*
I love my knitting friends...... I Love You, Ann!!!

Nothing

So, it seems that there hasn't been a whole lot of knitting going on lately. Well, actually, there's been NO knitting going on. I was very frustrated by this, and I just couldn't place my finger on it. No knitting. No desire to knit. No motivation what so ever to pick up the needles and knit. And it's not because I don't have the time to knit - I teach, and it's summer. HELLO!!! I have 24/7 to knit. And I know it really pisses off some of you. (I'm sorry, I don't make up the school schedule, I just live by it.) I've been trying very dilligently to make my apartment more livable and functional. I've been on 3 seperate trips this summer (I was gone most of July). So why wasn't I knitting?....

Then this morning as I was walking Lizzie, enjoying the incredible weather that we've had here in central New York over the past couple of days, it hit me: no stress. I have no stress in my life at the moment. No schedules, no play rehearsals, no lessons to give, no grades to calculate, no concerts to give, no petty co-workers to deal with, no little commute to school. Nothing. Knitting is an escape for me, and there's nothing to escape FROM at the moment. Please understand, this is a temporary state of being - September will be here before you know it and the poop will hit the fan. THEN there will be stress. THEN there will be schedules, play rehearsals, lessons to give, grades to calculate, concerts to give, petty co-workers to deal with, commuting to school.... And knitting. That daily escape..... I'm thinking there may be something on the needles before school starts - I do have a pair of mittens to make that I've committed to, and I'm sure they may get cast on any day now... I hope....

Change of subject:
This is a train bride that stands in the town I grew up in, Nicholson, Pa. Completed in 1915 for the Delaware, Lackawanna & Western Railroad, it's 2,375 feet long and stands 240 feet above the Tunkhannock Creek. Kinda cool, huh?

Have a great day!

The view...

From a rear window of my apartment. Very clear sky today, and beautiful breezes. Very nice...

Enjoy your day!

Not MY sky...

Hey there! I haven't fallen off the face of the earth. Really. But, I wasn't home (again). I was visiting my good friend Molly at her home in central Florida. This is HER sky. Isn't it amazing??? I think so, too.

We spent the week getting caught up with our lives, visiting art museums and seeing other friends who have made the move from upstate New York to live in the sunny state of Florida. So, it was a very relaxing week with good friends and good food, and several afternoons spent in Molly's pool.

Even though it was an awesome week, it is good to be home. I guess.....
