Nothing
So, it seems that there hasn't been a whole lot of knitting going on lately. Well, actually, there's been NO knitting going on. I was very frustrated by this, and I just couldn't place my finger on it. No knitting. No desire to knit. No motivation what so ever to pick up the needles and knit. And it's not because I don't have the time to knit - I teach, and it's summer. HELLO!!! I have 24/7 to knit. And I know it really pisses off some of you. (I'm sorry, I don't make up the school schedule, I just live by it.) I've been trying very dilligently to make my apartment more livable and functional. I've been on 3 seperate trips this summer (I was gone most of July). So why wasn't I knitting?....
Then this morning as I was walking Lizzie, enjoying the incredible weather that we've had here in central New York over the past couple of days, it hit me: no stress. I have no stress in my life at the moment. No schedules, no play rehearsals, no lessons to give, no grades to calculate, no concerts to give, no petty co-workers to deal with, no little commute to school. Nothing. Knitting is an escape for me, and there's nothing to escape FROM at the moment. Please understand, this is a temporary state of being - September will be here before you know it and the poop will hit the fan. THEN there will be stress. THEN there will be schedules, play rehearsals, lessons to give, grades to calculate, concerts to give, petty co-workers to deal with, commuting to school.... And knitting. That daily escape..... I'm thinking there may be something on the needles before school starts - I do have a pair of mittens to make that I've committed to, and I'm sure they may get cast on any day now... I hope....
Change of subject:
This is a train bride that stands in the town I grew up in, Nicholson, Pa. Completed in 1915 for the Delaware, Lackawanna & Western Railroad, it's 2,375 feet long and stands 240 feet above the Tunkhannock Creek. Kinda cool, huh?

Have a great day!

And I thought you ewren't knitting because you've been on vacation. The no stress makes a whole lotta sense. Well, Labor Day is just three weeks away!

The bridge is awesome. I love looking at stuff like that...
Your explanation makes perfect sense...stressless summers - now that is a "good thing"..
Stress free.... you gotta love it even if you aren't knitting.
Love the photo.
Makes sense to me. I hope you're adding to your stash as you're traveling around.
I envy your stress-free life. Enjoy it to the fullest while you can!
What a beautiful bridge. Thanks for sharing the photo.
Lackawanna????? Is that as in "I don't want to knit because I Lackawanna"? I think that's probably whats going on with you right now! ;-)

I'm glad you are living in some stress free times. Enjoy it while you can, sweetie.

You know..if you aren't going to talk about knitting...then you really need to start wrtiting bodice ripper short stories for your blog.
I'm just sayin' you need to keep us interested, coming back for more.
