Nada...

Well Good Morning! I see it's been almost a week, and no pics of my Trekking socks. That might be because I've done nothing with them since last weekend. Not a thing. Not a stitch, not a round, nada... Why? Well, this past week was the last week of school for the kids, and it's been very exhausting keeping things under control and still trying to get the last few things done for the end of the year. Now we're in the throws of state regents testing, so although there are no classes, there are scheduled tests and duties to get done before graduation on the 24th. So, although there is a major change in schedule for a week or so, it's been quite exhausting. It's amazing how tiring proctoring two tests in one day (yep, the whole day) can be. So, coming home to a beer and a nap and no desire to knit has been the typical day this past week. Oy...

The only knitting I have done this week was swatching for the Bitchin' Mittens knit-a-long. And I'm not thrilled with what that is looking or feeling like, so I may change my game plan all together. Hopefully I'll get in the mood to get back to my socks this weekend and have a pic or two by Monday. Enjoy your weekend and do something fun!

I get in those moods myself. Usually switching off to doing something else like the quilting helps me to want to knit again.

If your body says rest--rest.

Do something fun, is that an offer?

:o)

Also an educator, although of the elementary variety. I can't believe how much needs to be done just so one can stagger out and call the job "done!" The knitting, she suffers!!!

Yeah, sweetie-dude, switch gears. Do you have an alternate hobby? Maybe try cooking or something? (I KNOW you can make some MEAN-ASSED cookies. lol) I've been in a knitting funk for weeks. That's why I've been dyeing. I hit a slump when I started swatching for the Trek. I think I may have to throw in the towel on that one in order to move on...

Paul, what the heck are you thinking??? No one swatches and designs for a fiber contest till last minute!! I mean look at me. I haven't given it half a thought. I've even signed up for an additional Pal thing to do. (what was I thinking???)

Heh, heh....I hear you....we not only had to go through final exams and all the graduation crap but we had to pack up our entire school since we are moving to a brand new facility! Talk about no ambition...it took me two weeks just to start to feel like a normal person again..imagine packing up 33 years worth of music stuff, including 24 electric keyboards, 90 costumes, tons of musical theater collections...ugh...and soon we'll get to unpack it all! Yay for teaching music in public schools! Oh, and Florida in all its wisdom doesn't just have two finals a day, it has two finals and then abbreviated classes for the other periods so we never, ever, ever get a break!
Happy knitting! :-) Mary Lou the blogless

Mary Lou!

You don't need to knit - you need a pitcher of martinis, or the alcoholic beverage of your choice! Actually, about 10 years ago, we incorporated 3 smaller elementary schools into one new building, so I know EXACTLY of what you speak!

And kitkat, I'don't know what I was thinking either! Thank you for remonding me of the "Procrastination Rule". I must remember that for the future! lol!

Dave, I'm sending cookies. I'll let you decorate them, though. They'd get all messy in transit....

Awwww, *hugs*. Having the knitNot blues, honey bunny? Relax, rest. You'll catch up. In the meantime, while you're searching for divine intervention and the will to knit, just clean out your refrigerator or something else equally as un-fun. That'll probably perk those knitting needles right up!

It's the heat! It's the F***ing heat! We are not used to 94 f***ing degrees in New Hampshire! I thought I would die last night from it - and here I was putting on the fringe for the shawl for Scarlett's mother...I was "like I gotta get out of these clothes NOW!"

I think you are doing just exacatly what you need to be doing...napping. And, if you follow Sprite's recommendations you'll have a clean fridge too!
The knitting is supposed to be fun, so just wait until it makes you smile again
