A little more...

This is about 2" done on each of the cuffs of the socks (a bit better view of the colors as compared to yesterday's pic). I'm really liking the way the colors flow, and apparently there is some type of pattern in the striping of the yarn. I had no clue that the knitting would look like this from the look of the original skein. I'm thinking this is way cool.

So, my "vision" for the socks is to have a short cuff of 2.5 or 3 inches (cause I like wearing the shorter socks in the summer). What do you think? I'm open to your comments. Have a great night!

hmmm --- okay, looks really good! nice colours, and the patterns they make are so interesting. Who says they have to be EXACTLY the same??

And I love the idea of doing both of the socks at the same time. Less chance of forgetting what the "adjustments" were with the first one! And then, no problem with having to make that dreaded second sock! But ---

Why are you not doing them on the same long circular needle? That would be even more logical, wouldn't it??! And more interesting -- or fun? haha

Pauly,

I have just learned the long circular needle method, and I think you need to learn first with dpns...then if you decide you want to try it...go for it.

Baby steps...spectacular job!

I think they look great. I agree with a shorter cuff and/or sock for the summer, even though I prefer barefoot, but with all these lovely sock yarns who can resist but wear socks LOL.

Hugs!

Definitely go with a shorter cuff. The colors are so springy/summery!

The whole matching this is over rated. it's not the 1970's, where the sofa has to match the drapes. Hell, it's the SAME yarn, so that's enough of a match. lol
Stick with the single DPNs, that long circs thing, you can put out an eye. Ask me how I know.
You're doing great so far, that's a lot of prgress!

Ok...that just screams for a comment Dave.

Does your carpet match the drapes?

:o)

I gotta say that I just LOVE my dpns. LOVE THEM. I'm sure that sometime in the future I might try the magic loop, but not for my first pair.

Dave, is the eye patch you wear a result of a circular needle accident?

Cafe curtains..omg..I may need oxygen. I have a friend with a welcome mat.

DAVE IS A PIRATE? Argggggggghhhhhhhh....I am guessing that Lulu Kitty ate the parrot.

Sara, I think they are in some sort of cult or something. I am looking for some sort of "along" or "rama" since Dye-O-Rama is winding down. I liked the Dye-O-Rama idea since it didn't take up much time and was great fun.

Love that they don't match. Life is too short to worry about matching your socks.

I like the idea of short cuffs for summer. Plus they are hiking socks and you'll get hot out there. :P

The color is great, Paul. Good choice. :D

I knitted biking socks a few months ago - real short ones. A few rows of cuff, a few rows of SS and then started the heel flap. If it was for the fact that I ended up hating the yarn I knitted them with (cotton wool blend) I'd really love them! So now of course after seeing yours I'll have to try some in Trekking.
