Well, well, well...

The thumbs seemed to have gone a lot quicker than I expected:

I guess we're gonna have an early Labor Day, huh Dave? Hehehehe....

P.S. - Since many of you have asked, the mitten pattern comes from the book "The Knitter's Handy Book of Patterns" by Ann Budd.

I was thinking more on the line of a vodka martini - straight up, two olives, and a little dirty...

Will you be spearing the olives with DPNs and dropping them in the drink?

Don't forget to wear your leg warmers, Ann. Dave's bringing his willie warmer...

Leg warmers? I was holding out for a few of Dave's skeinettes for nipple tassles...

You can wear those, too. If it makes you happy....

I wonder if Dave will be offering those at the Cabin Cover Mercantile in assorted sizes?

Blogger Paul said...

I think they almost need to be custom made...

Hmmm..like Willie Warmers, exact measurements are required for "tailoring"?

10:58 PM
Blogger Paul said...

That's why tailors are so careful with measuring inseams. Yep.

Howling with laughter...Pauly you seem to draw all sorts of comments when you post photos...

Blog chatting....what's not to love?

I know - I just don't get it. I mean really, all I did was knit a pair of mittens that took most of my adult life to do, and no all these comments. Well, actually, almost all of them are from you and me, but that's not the point...

I am so impressed that you did these on tiny dpns...I have done mittens, but in worsted weight and it goes much faster..and they have all been children's mittens...

Good practice for socks though...How's the quest coming for the perfect Pauly sock pattern?

This was the yarn from Dave from forever ago, and I just liked the way it looked more on smaller needles. I've never done anything with needles that small before. But, I like the finished texture.

Still looking at sock patterns...

I know that I have been switching back and forth on my socks from a 0 to a size 2 needle and now the size 2 feels like a telephone pole to me.

I'd like to use at least a #3 - I have a set of Lantern Moon Rosewood that should be fun to use.

I'm lovin' the color of the mitts. They'll be great for (fondling) throwing balls! Get your minds out of the gutter... snowballs of course!

Those are really nice. What is the pattern?

Oh Diana..... Like you haven't been hangin' 'round Ann & Dave too much, right?

The mitten pattern comes from Ann Budd's book, The Knitter's Handy Book of Patterns.

Those are GREAT Mittens! :D I'm going to try my hand at Mittens when I get my Dave Yarn. Such lovely stuff. You did a really cool job on those. I bet you will kick ass with the socks. :D

They're toasty gorgeous, and Dave gave me that book so I can make some for myself! Mittens are definitely on my list of 'next to try' projects (Dave has a LOT to answer for!).
Hey, can I come to the snow ball too (someone just please make Ann put her nipple tassles on properly - I am NOT going to be on hands and knees looking for frozen-off nipples... well, that will not be the reason I'll be on my hands and knees...)?!

Love the mittens, but I feel compelled to warn you that moving into socks could be dangerous - those things are addictive!

As is lace, as I'm discovering to my chagrin...
