Knitting taught
Well, it went really well. She came, she watched, she knitted. I cast on 30 stitches and knit a few rows in garter stitch and had her watch. Then I handed her the needles, and she did it. She knitted several rows, and Eileen helped to guide her. During her knitting, she gained 10 stitches - which really made her watch more closely to what she was doing - a good lesson, I thought. So, she's gonna practice garter stitch, and next Wednesday we'll try purling. I also gave her a couple of beginner books for reference. She was so proud of herself, and so excited, and I'm very proud of her. She's gonna be ok! I'll post some pictures tomorrow of tonight's festivities. Have a great night!

Glad she caught on so quickly.
Hmmm..we will need to work on the chant for the cult. I am glad to hear that things went well. I look forward to seeing the pictures.

The best part was the look of concentration on her face, then surprise and elation when she did her first stitch - it was priceless!
Poor Sandee .... I can hear it now .... "It all started innocently enough with a swatch and a couple books. Next came more needles and books. Then row counters, darning needles, internet searches for patterns, blogs, that cute sheep tape measure that all the cool kids had. And the yarn. Oh the yarn. 20 storage bins to hold the yarn. Really they add interest to my living room. You can use them as foot rests. I'll tell you more ..... after I finish this row."
Here's a link to a quide that I use to help some friends. The pictures help greatly.
